This is a comparison of Rich Traditional Tones and Soft Pastels.

The majority of wedding planners go with one of these two styles. How they compare:

Rich Traditional Tones

Try the prints inspired by Barat Maroon, Royal Mehndi and Midnight Glam.

Best for:

  • Barat, mehndi and cultural ceremonies
  • The warm lights will be included at the evening events.
  • Large auditoriums and large stages
  • Bold colors and gold; Couples who love gold and bold colors

Soft Pastels

Consider Blush & Ivory, Walima Pastel and Garden Sage.

Best for:

  • Marriage (Walima), Nikah and Day Time events.
  • Garden & outdoor weddings
  • Fresh flower décor
  • For couples seeking a light and an elegant style, the wedding dress is the perfect choice.

For night events, I’d suggest rich tones and for day events, I’d suggest pastels. Light can make all the difference and the right palette can make photos look a lot better.

These palettes are designed to be used as follows:

Website

  1. Use the lightest colour for your colour background.
  2. Use the darkest colour for text and headings.
  3. Use one color for buttons such as “Plan your wedding.”

Signage & Packaging

  1. Use a color converter to get HEX codes converted to CMYK before printing.
  2. Use primary color for invitation cards, welcome boards and table cards.
  3. Print out one sample card first, as colors tend to appear darker when printed.

Social Media

  1. Choose one color to use for event highlights and provide posts.
  2. Consistently use 2-3 colors for text and Story stickers.
  3. Check your grid. It should be as if it’s one planner, not ten.

  --wedding-dark: #3E3426; /* text */
  --wedding-gold: #C5A26A; /* buttons */
  --wedding-champ: #F7E7CE; /* sections */
  --wedding-light: #FFFDF7; /* background */
}

Add this to your stylesheet, and use var(--wedding-gold) in any place you want to use that color.

Pro Tip

Use event lights to test colors. Fabrics and flowers can be affected by stage lights, fairy lights and warm bulbs.

Display all of your fabric and flower samples in the actual venue lighting before you make your orders. Soft pink may mature to peach, and white may turn yellow.

When I was racking my brain for ideas for the interior design of the wedding venue at Kareem Palace Marquee, I realized that picking pretty colors is not enough, they need to be coordinated with the lighting, flowers and furniture as well.

I believe that a balanced approach of gold, cream and soft pink tones can offer a refined and intriguing appearance.

When choosing colors, it’s important to think about lighting and how they’ll look under the stage lights; this way the whole décor is a cohesive, and the picture will look fantastic.

FAQ

Which is the best color for wedding planners?

Classics and safe are gold, ivory and blush. For day weddings, pastels are the best choice, but for traditional weddings, maroon and green suit the day.

What color should I take for a wedding?

I suggest that you use 3-4 basic colors, one dark, one light, and one or two accent colors. More than that is a bit of a mess.

Do these wedding planner color palettes fall under the “free to use” category?

Yes. Use them for your website, invitations, décor or logo. No credit needed.

Is my brand colour the same as the wedding colours I want to use?

No. Keep your own brand colours simple such as gold and cream. There can be a different color palette for each wedding, according to the couple’s preferences.
